Message From The Superintendent

An alumnus of Union High School, John Federline became the Union district’s superintendent on July 1. “We have an economic and moral imperative to make sure that our kids are prepared for life beyond high school,” he said. Stephen Pingry, Tulsa World

Union Families,

John-Federline

I want to take a moment to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety, well-being, and educational opportunities of every student in our district. Our schools remain a safe place for all children. Our mission continues to be 100 percent graduation, college and career readiness. The foundation of our mission begins with ensuring that each child in our district feels welcome, safe, and certain of their right to learn.

Our policies and practices are designed to prioritize the safety and security of our school communities. The district takes the privacy of student data very seriously. Federal law requires that we keep student data private and there is no data collected by the district which would identify a student's citizenship status. While the recent state and federal changes may have introduced uncertainty, our focus will continue to be the education, safety, and well-being of our students. In addition, we have processes in effect if law enforcement officials request to interact with a student. Law enforcement officials are required to present identification, and parents are notified immediately.

Parents can assist us by providing current emergency contact information for their students in case a parent/guardian is unreachable. As a reminder, you may verify and update emergency contact information for your child on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal or by visiting the office at your child’s school.

Our shared commitment to the value of public education for every student as a fundamental right will guide us through these challenges. At Union, we will continue to ensure safe learning environments where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed.

Sincerely,

John Federline, Ed.D.
Superintendent
